Ferrari World Abu Dhabi: Your pit-stop for extreme fun

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is the first ever Ferrari branded theme park in the world, celebrating the legacy of the iconic Italian luxury sports car company.
Housed under a massive steel roof designed in Ferrari’s signature red, this air-conditioned indoor amusement park is home to over 20 record-breaking rides and attractions.

The centerpiece is none other than Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest rollercoaster reaching speeds of 240 km/h! Beyond the rides, Ferrari World also features shows, simulators, go-karting, merchandise stores, and restaurants inspired by Italian cuisine. It’s open daily from 11am-8pm (timings may vary in Ramadan), located on Yas Island right next to Yas Mall and Yas Waterworld.

My Top Gear Experience at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

As a thrill seeker, I was itching to try Formula Rossa first. The sleek red and white rollercoaster instantly catches your eye, with its massive loop reaching 52 meters high. My friend and I grabbed some coffee to energize us, then headed straight for the coaster. The line moved quickly, and before we knew it, we were buckling into our seats. As the ride shot forward, I felt the raw acceleration pushing me back, my heart racing just as fast as the coaster launched to 240 km/h in just 5 seconds! The tight turns and rapid ups and downs kept the adrenaline pumping from start to finish. I got off breathless, with a huge smile on my face. What a rush!

After grabbing a delicious Margherita pizza slice at the Mamma Rossella restaurant, we tried out Fiorano GT Challenge, the park’s twin roller coaster with two highspeed tracks that race side by side. Zipping around the course at up to 90 km/h was an absolute blast!
Next up was Scuderia Challenge, an interactive motion simulator that put us right in the middle of a thrilling Formula 1 track. The accelerations, donuts and drifts were so realistic, I felt like a real F1 driver.

No visit to Ferrari World is complete without experiencing Flying Aces, the world’s tallest rollercoaster loop at an imposing 51 meters high. As we slowly went up the incline, the anticipation was palpable. Reaching the top, we plunged down at 120 km/h, upside down through the giant loop! My stomach did somersaults, in the best possible way.

After catching our breath, we did a few laps in the simulators. Next, we went on Turbo Track, a vertical climb roller coaster that feels like you are racing into the sky. Turbo Track was short and fast, but left us grinning from ear to ear.

We saved the newest roller coaster for last – Mission Ferrari. We were placed into a unique spy car roller coaster that did a fast loop, went forward, backwards and sideways on our way to the Ferrari Factory! We couldn’t resist riding this one multiple times!

To take a break from the wild rides, we checked out the Galleria Ferrari museum displaying legendary Ferrari models through the decades. Being up close to masterpieces like the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, first unveiled by Enzo Ferrari himself, was special for any car lover. The collection of trophies, racing memorabilia and interactive exhibits gave us a deeper appreciation for Ferrari’s rich racing heritage.

My wife and I embarked on an exhilarating adventure to Ferrari World all the way from the USA, and it was an absolute blast! The rides were lightning-fast and packed with adrenaline, providing an intense thrill that left us craving more.

Beyond the wild rides, you’ll find interactive experiences, shows, simulators, go-karts and more to entertain visitors of all ages.
Just be prepared for the trip out to Yas Island, expensive food, and repeat queues if you want to re-ride favorites. Avoid the crowds by planning a weekday visit if you can. With so many unique attractions, Ferrari World truly captures the spirit of innovation, luxury and racing heritage that Ferrari is known for.

How much did my tickets cost?

Tickets purchased online with GetYourGuide.com cost AED 345 per person. I booked my tickets in advance online to save time at the gate. I strongly suggest you do the same!

Location

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is located on Yas Island which is about a 1 hour drive from Dubai. You can take the free Yas Express shuttle from various locations around Dubai. Its a comfortable and most importantly free ride to Yas Island and around Yas Island!

• Please note that to take the Yas Express Shuttle you must have your tickets before you board the bus as the drivers will request to see them. Click here for the latest Yas Express schedules.
• Taxi Drivers in Dubai will happily drive you to Yas Island as its a big fare for them (about 300-450 AED)
• If you do take a taxi, please take note that Abu Dhabi Taxis (silver colored cars) can take you back to Dubai. Your Dubai Taxi can only take you to Abu Dhabi and not bring you back to Dubai.
