Upon arrival, the first thing that strikes you is the park’s stunning design. The entrance is crafted to resemble a traditional Emirati village, complete with detailed architecture that transports you to a different world. The attention to detail is meticulous, and it sets the stage for the immersive experience that awaits inside.

Once you step through the gates, you’re greeted by the sound of laughter and the sight of water in every direction. The park’s layout is intuitive, with clear signage guiding you to whatever type of adventure you’re in the mood for. Slip, Slide and Splash!

If you’re an adrenaline junkie like me, head straight for the record-breaking attractions. Dawwama, the planet’s largest hydromagnetic-powered six-person tornado waterslide, will have you screaming as you plunge down 20 meters through a massive funnel. The experience is exhilarating, combining the thrill of a roller coaster with the splash of a water slide.

For those who love competition, try racing your friends down the six-lane mat racer Sebag. It’s a high-speed dash to the finish line that will have you coming back for more. And if you’re looking for a true test of courage, hit the region’s first drop-capsule slide Liwa Loop. The anticipation of the floor dropping out from under you is almost as intense as the ride itself.

Then there’s Jebel Drop, a 10-story freefall speed slide that offers breathtaking views of the entire park—if you can keep your eyes open, that is. The descent is rapid and heart-pounding, a must-try for any thrill-seeker.

For a coaster on water, don’t miss the Bandit Bomber. You’ll zoom through sharp twists and turns before blasting through water cannons. It’s a unique experience that combines the fun of a roller coaster with the refreshing splash of water.

Or test your surfing skills at the Flowrider, a 30-meter stationary wave machine. It’s a challenging and fun way to try your hand at surfing without having to hit the beach. Trust me, it’s harder than it looks, but it’s also incredibly rewarding when you finally manage to stay upright on the board.

Splashtastic Fun for The Little Ones

Yas Waterworld caters brilliantly to families, with dedicated kids’ areas like Tot’s Playground for under 4s. This safe and fun-filled zone allows the youngest visitors to enjoy the water park experience in a setting designed just for them. Watch your babies splash about in mini pools while slightly older kids tackle tiny slides and water playgrounds.

Yehal and the infant pool is another area that’s perfect for ages 2 to 8. It features paddling pools, mini slides, and a dumping bucket that’s sure to elicit giggles and shrieks of delight. It’s a great place for kids to enjoy the water while parents relax nearby, knowing their little ones are in a safe environment.

Marah Fortress is an interactive water fort with slides, water guns, buckets, and fountains. It’s a sprawling playground that encourages kids to explore and play while cooling off. My son loves the tipping water jars – just be prepared to get soaked! It’s a highlight for any family visit, ensuring that kids have as much fun as the adults.

For kids over 120cm tall, Rush Rider teaches board riding skills on an endless wave machine. It’s a gentle introduction to the world of surfing, and before you know it, they’ll be ready to surf Bubbles’ Barrel with you. It’s a fantastic way for kids to build confidence in the water and try something new.

Great day out – brilliant facilities and something for everyone!

Take a Break and Cool Off

When you need a break from the slides, there are plenty of options to relax and recharge. Float lazily around the river in a tube, taking in the sights and sounds of the park at a leisurely pace. It’s a great way to unwind and enjoy some downtime between the more thrilling attractions.

Relaxing in a private cabana is another excellent option for those looking to take a break. Families can rent one complete with towels, lockers, drinks and snacks! It’s your own private oasis within the water park, providing a comfortable space to rest and gather your energy for more fun.

For quick bites, refuel at snack bars around the park or restaurants like Chubby’s Kitchen. The food is delicious and provides the perfect fuel for a day of adventure. Sit down for a meal at family-friendly dining spot Dana’s Diner located near the surfing scene at Bubble’s Barrel. With its relaxed atmosphere and tasty menu, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal and reflect on the day’s excitement.

Insider’s Tips for Yas Waterworld

To make the most of your visit, here are some insider tips:
1. Book Online instead of at gate – queues get long on weekends, and you’ll want to maximize your time on the rides.
2. Wear aqua shoes – the paths can get hot, and you’ll want to protect your feet as you move between attractions.
3. Single riders get ahead faster – use the family line for groups, but if you’re on your own, take advantage of the single rider lines to skip some of the wait.
4. Hydrate regularly – all drinks here are expensive, so bring a water bottle and fill up at the fountains throughout the park.
5. Download the Map and plan your route to minimize walking between rides. It’s a great way to ensure you hit all your must-do attractions without backtracking.
