Here’s an Introduction to the experience –

Let’s start at the very beginning – just getting to the Burj Khalifa is an adventure in itself! I always recommend taking the smooth and ultra-modern Dubai Metro, which delivers you near by to the tower at the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station. As you exit the station, the sheer size of the gleaming spire towering above you is nothing short of jaw-dropping. At a dizzying 2,722 feet, this magnificent structure positively scrapes the sky. It’s hard to even comprehend that height – it’s over half a mile straight up!

The journey to the tower is a visual feast, as the Dubai skyline unfolds around you, each building a testament to the city’s architectural ambition. The Burj Khalifa itself, designed by the renowned architect Adrian Smith, stands as a symbol of Dubai’s unquenchable thirst for the extraordinary. Its sleek, shimmering façade reflects the golden desert sun, while its spire pierces the blue Gulf sky like a needle.

After craning your neck admiring the tower from below, it’s time to head inside. Follow the signs through the bustling Dubai Mall to the well-marked ‘At the Top’ entrance, which is conveniently located past the luxurious Cartier store. Even on a weekday morning, there was still a bit of a queue, but it moved quickly and efficiently. I’d booked my tickets in advance online to save time on Get Your Guide , but you can also purchase them at the ticket counter if you prefer.

How much did my tickets cost?

The ticket prices vary based on how high you want to go and what time of day you visit. I opted for the 124th and 125th floor combo ticket, which cost AED 179 per person.

This gets you access to the main observation decks with panoramic views all around Dubai. For a more exclusive experience, you can upgrade to the 148th floor sky deck or even the luxurious 154th floor lounge, but be prepared to pay a premium for these unparalleled experiences.

My Honest Review of At the Top of Burj Khalifa

After a quick security check, an elevator whisked our group up 125 floors in less than a minute! Talk about an ear-popping ride. Stepping out onto the observation deck, even someone who’s been here many times like me is left absolutely speechless by the views. It was a crystal clear day, and we could see for miles across the Dubai skyline and off into the desert horizon. From up here, you truly appreciate the sheer scale of Dubai’s explosive development over the past few decades. Gleaming skyscrapers seem to sprout up overnight in this desert metropolis, a testament to the city’s unyielding ambition.

We took our time walking all the way around the deck, soaking up panoramic views of the Dubai Fountain, Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, and other famous landmarks. Helpful diagrams pointed out the major sights, enhancing our understanding and appreciation of the landscape below. It was an amazing feeling looking straight down on aircraft coming in to land at the airport! I highly recommend visiting near sunset when you can watch the city transition from day to night, a spectacle that is truly mesmerizing.

The observation deck has both indoor and outdoor viewing areas, so you can comfortably take in the sights even on hot days. In addition to the jaw-dropping views, the Burj Khalifa experience is enriched by engaging displays that tell the story behind this architectural marvel. As you wait for the high-speed elevators, multimedia exhibits showcase how the tower was conceived, designed, and constructed. It’s mind-boggling to think about the engineering genius required to build the tallest structure ever created by man. I always walk away with a renewed appreciation for human potential and the boundless limits of our creativity.

No journey to the Top is complete without bringing home a memento. The gift shop has an extensive collection of Burj Khalifa souvenirs, from scale models of the tower to t-shirts, keychains, and more. I couldn’t resist picking up a magnet in the shape of the Burj Khalifa – the perfect reminder of my unforgettable visit.

After nearly two hours of soaking up the views and exploring the observation decks, it was time for our group’s VIP-speedy descent back to Earth. Reflecting on the experience while gliding back down, I’m filled with a mix of awe, pride, and inspiration. Awe at the towering architectural achievement, pride in my home of Dubai, and inspiration to dream big.

Amazing experience. Very organized and smooth movements around the floors. Highly recommend it to any tourist. Design of the building and the construction is beyond astonishing. Makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.
